Main - Mayra Ruiz for CA State Assembly, District 68

Leadership Rooted in Real Life

I’m running because I’ve lived with the consequences of the laws being passed—and families are paying the price. As a mother and a business owner, I see every day how rising costs, higher taxes, and reckless decisions make it harder to get ahead.

I believe in safe communities, strong and age-appropriate schools, and an economy that supports small businesses and working families—not bureaucracy. I’m running to restore common sense, accountability, and real-world leadership to government.

S.M.A.R.T.

SMART priorities focus on safe communities, affordable living, strong schools, and a thriving local economy—while holding government accountable for real results.

Safe Communities

Support effective public safety strategies that prevent crime before it starts. Invest in youth intervention and community-based solutions that improve safety and quality of life.

Making Life More Affordable

Advance practical housing solutions that protect long-term residents and local neighborhoods. Reduce unnecessary cost burdens on families and help people stay in the communities they call home.

Accountable Government

Prioritize responsible budgeting and long-term planning. Increase transparency in how public funds are spent and ensure taxpayer dollars deliver real, measurable value.

Results-Driven Education

Keep classrooms focused on strong academics and clear communication with parents. Expand career, technical, and skilled-based learning to prepare students for real-world success.

Thriving Local Economy

Support small businesses, job creation, and local entrepreneurship. Reduce unnecessary red tape and invest in workforce development and training.

Putting Families First

Mayra Ruiz is a wife, mother, business owner, and lifelong community advocate who believes government should work for families—not the other way around.

As a mother, Mayra understands firsthand how public safety, education, and affordability affect families every single day. As a business owner, she has managed budgets, created jobs, navigated regulations, and worked directly with public agencies—giving her a clear, real-world understanding of how government decisions impact small businesses and working families.

Mayra is not a career politician. She comes from real life—where accountability matters, consequences are real, and hard work isn’t optional. She has spent years giving back through civic engagement, youth and family initiatives, and local partnerships—not for recognition, but because service is a responsibility.

She believes in safe neighborhoods, strong and age-appropriate education, supporting small businesses, and making life more affordable for working families. She also believes taxpayers deserve accountability, and that endless tax increases and wasteful spending are not sustainable.

Mayra Ruiz is running for the California State Assembly to bring common sense, transparency, and real-world experience to Sacramento—and to be a strong voice for families who feel unheard, overburdened, and ready for better leadership.
